Mawlid

mawlid

Mawlid al-Nabi, celebrated on September 26-27, is a special day celebrating the birth of the Prophet Muhammad. Mawlid translates to ‘the birth of the prophet’ in Arabic.

Muslims believe that Muhammad was the greatest and final prophet of Allah. Along with Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, Mawlid is one of the most essential celebrations amid Muslims. Street carnivals, food sharing, and Qu’ran and poetry readings are just some of the ways Muslims choose to celebrate.
