Cinco de Mayo

Cinco De Mayo

Cinco de Mayo, or May 5th, is a festival commemorating the Mexican army's victory over France in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, during the Franco-Mexican War.

How to observe Cinco de Mayo in the workplace:

  • Educational approach: Remember the history and why Cinco the Mayo is celebrated. Engaging employees with educational material is an excellent way to respectfully acknowledge an observance and open the door to a constructive conversation. When learning about a culture, religion or event, you expand your window of tolerance and adopt a more inclusive mindset.
