Communications Template for Canada Day
Hello [all],
As you know, July 1st is Canada Day. Coming on the heels of Indigenous History Month in June, it is important to think of Canada Day through a different lens. When we discuss Canada Day, it is important to honour the role of Indigenous People’s in Canada’s history. Canadians are trying to find the balance between celebrating their Canadian pride and reconciliation with the past. Some may wear orange instead of red to show support for the Indigenous Peoples.
It is a good time to be mindful and reflect on why and how we celebrate Canada Day this year. I encourage you all to take a look at the history of Canada Day and acknowledge our past. Thank you again for your continuous support of our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Learning and growing together is crucial as we strive to make our organization more inclusive and equitable for all.
We look forward to learning with you.
