Purple Heart Day

Purple Heart day is a day to honor the brave people in the United States who have been injured or have died as a sacrifice for their country.

This day is an unofficial observance day to remember their sacrifice and which is represented by a purple heart medallion.

DID YOU KNOW: It is the oldest Military distinction and is still awarded today!

How to Observe Purple Heart Day in the Workplace

  • Bereavement Policies: Take a look at your company’s bereavement policies, are they inclusive? Are you asking for a death certificate? Ensure that your employees can confidently take the day to grieve without guilt.

  • Resources: Do you have any resources for those who may suffer from mental health-related challenges? Think about trauma that can influence your employees with disorders such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders (PTSD).
