Diwali

Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is traditionally celebrated by Hindus. Over the centuries, other religions such as Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism have joined and started celebrating Diwali.

Check out our article on Diwali for more information on the history and how to recognize this holiday at work.

How to Observe Diwali in the Workplace

  • Paid time-off as this holiday is widely celebrated by Asian people and of Asian descent. Time off to visit family and friends is considered a must, just as Christians celebrate Christmas.

  • Well wishes through a catered lunch and decorations are always a good way to ensure employees know they are valued members of the organization.
